This article
takes a critical look at efforts underway to lionize Tim Geithner after he steps down from his job as Secretary of the Treasury. It makes many good points about Geithner's real legacy. If one takes the position that Geithner played a key role in rescuing the Wall Street banks, and making sure that it was as painless as possible for bank management, I would have to give him a good grade. On the other hand, he had little concern for Main Street, or for those who were sold bad mortgages, or bad securities, by the bankers who he protected.
