The GOP
used the filibuster again to block legislation. They offered some weak excuses for opposing the bill, but the use of filibuster, which blocks a bill from being debated in the Senate, is not a vote against the bill. It is a vote to prevent the Senate from debating any bill that cannot win 60 votes in the Senate. The filibuster prevents the Senate majority from passing any legislation that the GOP does not like.
