Unconventional Gas And The Environment

This article describes the growing volume of unconventional gases being used in North America.  There are issues with the extraction process, and the potential impact of lower cost fossil fuels on carbon emissions.  The golden rule for extraction processes, if it is applied, may eliminate that problem.  Gas is a better alternative to coal, but if it is sold at lower prices it may increase carbon emissions.  A carbon tax would solve that problem.
