Median household income, corrected for inflation, has risen modestly since the recession ended in 2009,
but it is 6% lower than it was before the start of the recession. Median household income growth varied by income level, race and geographic region. The poorest households, and the poorest regions, have been hardest hit by income loss during the recession, and have grown more slowly since the end of the recession.
