A lot of companies like Ben & Jerry measured themselves using the triple bottom line. When they sold the company, they were forced to take a high offer from a large corporation instead of taking a smaller offer from a company that shared their values, Moreover, there are lots of companies that claim to be socially responsible, but provide no information to prove the claim. Now there is a way to solve both problems: become a B corporation. All B corporations must provide proof to support their claims and they are able to sell their companies to the best buyer regardless of price.
