This article (via Manan Shukla) has graphics which show per capita taxes paid by state and it also shows federal spending per capita by state. Just the show that most people do not understand their own self interest, it shows that the Tea Party heavy states which want to cut federal spending reap the most net benefit from the system. The states that have the least net benefit are the strongest supporters of federal spending.
