David Brooks Defines The Recall Election In Wisconsin
In this post David Brooks does his typical song and dance about our culture and history to lead us up to his political conclusions. In this case, he tells us that Wisconsin recall election is about the heroic efforts of the GOP governor (who he mildly faults for being a bit tough) to end the reign of special interests that cause governments to spend money they don't have by taking on debt. If he wins the recall it will deliver a needed message to the country about fiscal responsible government. If he loses, it won't be because he did the wrong things, it will because the electorate has made a foolish decision. The electorate only makes good decisions when they behave like David Brooks would like them to behave. That is, when the elect republicans.
