Occupy Wall Street Is Making The News
The Occupy Wall Street protest in the US is picking up steam. They are right to point at the banking system in the US and in Europe as a major source of our economic problems. They also have concerns about corporate influence in government. This article indicates that the movement is getting some attention in the media. Like most movements it has not congealed around a set of policy issues and it is not funded and organized by billionaires as the Tea Party has been. Over time it will take on more structure and a leadership will emerge. The history of these movements in the US suggests that some incident will trigger the movement. In the past, over reaction by the police has added a spark to protest movements.
