Why Irish Eyes Are Not Smiling From Rise In GDP

This article explains why the modest increase in Ireland's GDP has not benefitted many in Ireland. The boost in GDP was the result of exports by multinationals with plants in Ireland. If one looks at Ireland's GNP, however, is has not done as well as GDP. It is GNP that matters to Ireland.
