Several state governors claim that they are broke and that they can't afford to pay public employees. Their claims were echoed to an approving article by David Koch in the Wall Street Journal (of course). Koch has been a big contributor to several of governors pleading poverty. While state revenues are down due to the recession they have also been lowered by recent tax cuts that enlarge their projected deficits. The GOP plan to keep the Tea Partiers happy may backfire. The majority of Americans, including 40% of Republicans, disapprove of Scott Walker's tactics in Wisconsin. Moreover, union members who stayed home in last Novembers elections have been given an incentive to return to the polls.
