In a prior post we linked to an article showing that the percent of arable land was declining in major food producing nations. The implication was that we needed to increase crop yields by using more chemical fertilizers to feed to population. This article reviews research that makes the case for sustainable farming versus energy intensive food production. It may be easier to influence food production in the developing world than to modify legacy methods of food production in the developed world.
