The New York Times Reports On Elections In Europe

This article is the first of many responses to the election results in France and Greece.  It reports the obvious issues that arise from the election in France that will require a new partnership between France and Germany.  It also reports the warning in Italy in response to the election in Greece.  The Greek electorate responded by favoring fringe parties.  The rise of fringe parties increases the difficulty of developing a common solution to the economic issues in the eurozone.

I was surprised to see the article end by reporting Hugo Chavez's response to the elections, along with an innocuous statement from the Chinese government.  They are peripheral to what is happening in Europe, and associating Chavez with the French election results will alarm American's who have been taught to view him as an extremist.
